From 1 September 2013, applications for au pair permits will be processed within eight to ten weeks of the application being submitted to the police or a foreign service mission.
Until then, case processing times will vary somewhat. Some applications will be processed quickly, while others will take longer. All applications will be processed within five months of the application being submitted to the police or foreign service mission, however.
We understand that it may seem unfair that some will receive an answer more quickly than others this summer, but it is necessary so that we can ensure that case processing times are as short and as fair as possible for everyone once this transition period ends on 1 September 2013.
