Au pair Berit in -
Hej hej!
Dear family,

Available from January 2025.
My name is Berit and I would love to become your Au-pair next year!
I live in Königstein which is near Frankfurt in Germany, and I just turned 19 on November 11th. I graduated from Secondary School (with the mark 1,4 , which is equivalent to an A) in June 2024. Right now, I’m in Dublin where I’m doing a four month internship at a radio station. I hope that this internship will help me decide whether I want to start studying either Science of Media or Cognitive Science at university in Germany next fall.
At home I live together with my dad, who is the managing director of a consulting company, my mom, who works as a senior controller and my 12 year old brother. I’m an experienced driver since I got my driving license in July 2023 and have been driving my manual car almost every day since my 18th birthday in November 2023.
I grew up helping to look after my brother, at home I do light housework including cleaning, tidying, cooking and ironing.
I started babysitting in September 2022 at a family with two little boys and a dachshund. We played together mostly playmobil and board games and ate dinner after which I got them ready for bed which also included bottle feeding for one of them.
Another family I worked with had three girls which were 9, 7 and one and a half when I started there. This was my first experience with another language as they are Argentinian and speak Spanish with each other. The baby first couldn’t speak and if only Spanish which I don’t speak, but we got along very well.
I drawed with them, did tons of puzzles and played in their garden, got them ready for bed and brought them to sleep. I also helped with the nappy training of the youngest girl.
I also worked with a French family of three (two girls of 9&7 and one boy of 4 ). Yet again I gained experience with working with children speaking another mother tongue than my own.
I also tutored a 13 year old boy. With my help he changed his E in Latin to a B in two months!
I love reading and doing creative things like journaling and making a scrapbook. I go to the gym, go for a run or for walks with my friends and their dogs. Right now I’m also taking Swedish classes twice a week. In school my favorite subjects were languages and theater which I also enjoy to do in my free time.
I’m a very open person and love to try out new things. My friends say that I’m a calm and friendly person.
At all the times where I’ve been away from home which includes 4 month stay in Ireland, a 2 week stay in England and one week in summer camp since I was 9, I never struggled with homesickness. These experiences have made me more independent and responsible.

My first contact with Sweden was as a young child through the books of Astrid Lindgren.
My passion was renewed last summer when I got into hearing Scandinavian pop and rap
music. My favorite artist are Veronica Maggio, Ramón and Hov1. This quickly turned into learning Swedish with Duolingo to understand the lyrics.
I’ve been learning Swedish for a year now and have the level A2. I am deeply interested in the Scandinavian way of life and would love to improve my language skills in either Swedish, Norwegian or Danish.

So if youre looking to add someone openminded, responsible who is interested in Scandinavian culture, don’t hesitate to contact me.

I hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,
Berit
