From 1st of March 2024 the host family must give the au pair a minimum of 7.000 NOK per month as pocket money/salary (before taxes).
In addition, the host family must pay a minimum of 10.550 NOK per year (880 NOK per month) for the au pair’s Norwegian language course and study materials.
This applies to all host families and au pairs, including those who have signed a contract with lower rates, as the level of au pairs' pocket money shall be adjusted whenever the UDI adjusts the minimum rates.
The host family shall also cover such travel expenses.
